Rookwood Cemetery is the largest cemetery in the southern hemisphere to still be functioning. It takes up almost an entire suburb and is divided into several smaller sectarian cemeteries - Catholic, Anglican, Independent Section and the Crematorium.
This section is a traditional monumental area. There are not many headstones in this section. Whether this is because there haven't been many burials, or its a poorer section where relatives couldn't afford gravestones, is hard to say.
